North Carolina State University

Peggy E. Hoon currently serves as the North Carolina State University Libraries’ Scholarly Communication Librarian and has managed their Scholarly Communication Center and its programs since its founding in 1998. Her primary responsibilities include providing guidance to the library staff on matters pertaining to scholarly communication, including electronic resource licensing, copyright and fair use, and user privacy issues. Additionally, she provides guidance to faculty and others in the NC State community on scholarly communication matters and copyright ownership or use issues and policies and speaks frequently on these topics.

Ms. Hoon is the Special Assistant to the Provost for Copyright Administration at North Carolina State University, serving as a resource to the Provost and the University Copyright Committee. She recently joined the Association of Research Libraries as their Visiting Scholar for Campus Copyright and Intellectual Property.

In addition to a JD degree from the University of Washington, Ms. Hoon holds a BS in nursing from the University of Colorado.
